Safety Policy

The employees of Reykjavikexpress have established a safety policy and set objectives to ensure that passenger safety and comfort are always a top priority. Our fleet consists of some of the newest vehicles in the country. Our goal is to have skilled and reliable drivers, modern vehicles, and to ensure maximum safety and comfort.

Drivers:

The driver is the most crucial factor in safety. Having skilled and reliable personnel who can handle any situation is essential. Since the company’s founding in 1969, we have employed outstanding staff, which has undoubtedly contributed to our long-term success. We emphasize employee competence, reliability, and the best possible training.

Preventive Maintenance:

Our workshop is staffed by experienced technicians who oversee all maintenance. We prioritize preventive maintenance and keep detailed records of our vehicles for optimal oversight.

Braking System:

Nearly all our coaches are equipped with ABS braking systems, which significantly enhance safety, particularly in wet or icy conditions. We emphasize equipping vehicles appropriately for conditions, such as ensuring proper tires for winter roads, including studded or winter tires.

Seatbelts:

All our coaches are equipped with seatbelts in every seat, either two-point or three-point belts.

Safety Measures:

Our goal with this policy is to work systematically to maintain the highest safety standards and minimize incidents as much as possible. An annual safety and environmental training course is held for drivers, covering these topics in depth. The safety course includes certified first aid training and a review of all safety equipment available to drivers and passengers. This training is a fixed annual event.
